Kathmandu, Nepal

In Nepal we stayed at the Tharlam Monastery guest house, it was so nice and the price was great! we looked out our window and there was the monastery, we could hear the chanting and horns from the monks every morning it was wonderful.
We were also very close to The Great Stupa of Boudha, what an incredible place,  all day long people are doing kora around reciting mantras, making offerings, there is actually a rush hour where it is just one big wave of people circling at the same time.  I was told that This Stupa was a very spiritually powerful place, and it was the truth,   I remember one day going around it and I was in a mood because Colin was acting up a bit and I was being very impatient and so i was by myself wishing I could stop feeling the way I was and all of a sudden I was crying, tears were streaming down my face, i was so embarrassed and hoping no body was noticing, and when it was time to meet Larry and Colin for lunch i had to go in the restroom to finish because tears where still coming it was like some kind of catharsis  I don't know,  but it felt really good, it wasn't sad crying at all it was very strange and very beneficial I think. Anyway we just loved being able to go there everyday and do Kora.
The layout of Bouda is very interesting it's like this quaint little town thats built up right,  and I do mean right around the stupa filled with shops selling things very cheaply,    for us from the US anyway and on the roof tops of all these buildings are restaurants so you can look directly at the stupa what awesome sunsets !
Oh again the shopping wow definately a tough place to be if you are trying to lessen your attachments to material things. Wow I wanted everything and I think I almost bought everything too, just kidding kind of. ....
We also got to see a close friend of ours Venerable Lekshay la who is a monk and lives in Nepal half the year and Seattle the other half he also introduced us to a new friend Kunga another monk that helped show us around, what a wonderful person he is too! We have been so incredibly fortunate to have been around so many wonderful people on this trip and made so many new friends.
Ok I am going to break and put some pictures in and then some more on Bouda later.
